What can we say? We love our neighborhood school.

My favorite thing about Madrona Elementary is that all the people there are so nice, and it’s such a caring and safe school.

We chose to enroll my kids in Madrona Elementary because it’s really close to our house, so we walk here most days. We really wanted to go to our neighborhood school because we wanted our kids to go to school with our neighbors. They can walk to their friend’s houses and we’re never that far away from their classmates. It’s been really lovely just to feel like we are in a community that is geographically located around the school. We also loved the tour when we went. I was really impressed with Principal Carter and her vision for the school, and I have only grown more impressed over our years here. In the three years we have been here, we have seen Principal Carter do amazing work to support our students’ learning. My kids love it! Both of them went to the Launch preschool, so the first day of school they felt like it was their school, so they feel real ownership here. They love their teachers and they love their friends. I think, for them, the friends are really a huge part of it. They talk about the friends they have here all the time, we’re able to set up playdates, and we are able to walk to school with their friends. We are able to pick their friends up from after care and have after school playdates. It’s been really powerful.

What I love about Madrona Elementary is the garden and my favorite teachers. I love that my friends go to the school. I would give it a 10! Kindergarten was really fun.

We chose to enroll our kids in Madrona Elementary because we recently moved and my aunt works at Madrona Elementary. I kind of felt like I knew someone at the school, and she told me that the Principal is amazing. My son loves the school, he loves his teacher, Mr. LeMoine. My daughter loves her teacher too, Ms. Saucedo, and how vibrant she is. They love coming to the school. All the staff are amazing, and we love the staff.

We chose to enroll our kids in Madrona Elementary because it is our neighborhood school. We love the commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects - it is not performative and it is not a curriculum. It’s the culture of the school. Growing up in a diverse urban city, I wanted the same for my kids, because I benefited from growing up in a vibrant, multicultural community. I want my kids to benefit from learning about different cultures, languages, and lived experiences. The Principal and teachers are phenomenal, because they are here for the same reason - to support the learning of all kids and promote a strong, fun, and inclusive community. The school events are fun, and I love the conversations outside the gate with other parents after drop off. My kids are thriving and the opportunities for differentiated learning are challenging them academically. And, best of all, they love the school! People know them and they know everyone in this lovely tight knit community. Truly the best part of being at our neighborhood school! (Oh, and aftercare onsite at Launch is amazing!)
