Want to get involved?

Madrona PTSA believes we are a stronger school community when we all work together to support our students, families, and staff.  We value the diverse skill-sets and life experiences that our parents, families, and community members bring to our school, and we strive to make volunteering accessible to all who have time and talents to share.  Our goal is to make sure that every Madrona community member knows how to get involved and feels welcome to do so, as much or as little as they want to and are able.

Please browse this list and let us know if you are interested in taking on a leadership role or joining a team. All are welcome, and your voice is needed!

The Community Building Committee is all about connecting our Madrona families to one another and to our wider neighborhood community. This committee hosts community-facing events such as the Back-to-School BBQ, Popsicles in the Park, and Pizza in the Park (ok we like to have treats in the park together - it’s our vibe). We’re also hoping to branch out and strengthen relationships with our Madrona neighbors, expand our welcoming events for new and prospective families, and dream up fun NEW events for kids and families too! If community building and event planning are your thing, you’ve found the right group

ENRICHMENT

The Enrichment Committee helps support our students by engaging them in educational and fun in school experiences! This includes supporting field trips, health fair, field day, and other student enrichment activities. Our Garden Subcommittee organizes regular work parties to make our outdoor space beautiful and usable for outdoor learning opportunities. This committee works closely with Madrona staff and teachers to support all of our students as they follow the Panther Path.

FAMILY RESOURCES

The Family Resources Committee works with the school’s Family Support Worker to make sure our students and families have access to donated uniforms, toiletries, shelf-stable foods, and other items as needed. Volunteers help organize our Giving Wreath and family support during school breaks.

The Fundraising Committee helps run our Move-A-Thon fundraiser. If you are passionate about helping the PTSA raise money to support Madrona Elementary and community, this committee is for you!

We love our Madrona Staff and Teachers! The Staff Appreciation Committee stocks the teacher’s lounge and organizes monthly community-sourced potlucks with a different theme each month. These events are a fun, simple, and are a great way to get involved!
